Everything you need to know about locating your Lost Property.

How to lodge a Lost Property case:

There are several options.

  1. Speak with a friendly operator by calling our National Lost Property line on 1300 008 604

  2. Call our Contact Centre on 13 22 27 - when prompted, select option 3 for 'other', from here follow the prompts for Lost Property; this will take you directly to speak with one of our helpful operators.

  3. For less urgent items, you can lodge a case in writing by completing this form 13cabs contact us

A team member will ask you to provide details regarding your missing item, please prepare this information ahead of the conversation.

  • What is the item?

  • What are the defining features?

  • Any other specific information relevant to your item/s

  • Where in the cab you may have lost item (front, back seat or the boot).

Example for lost phone:

iphone 14pro max, in a clear case with blue stars on the back, has a crack in the screen at the top right. I was sitting in the backseat on the passenger side.

The operator may also ask to provide specific details of your ride; These details help our operators narrow down the car you travelled in to liaise with the driver. These questions may include:

  • Time and date of travel

  • Booking number

  • Pick up/drop off locations.

Once the required details are collected the operator will provide you with a Lost Property Reference number, this is specific to your Lost Property case. A team member will attempt to contact the driver to find the item.

How to collect your item

There are options depending on your preference and the driver's availability.

  • For urgent items, the Driver can deliver to you as a paid trip. There is a cost associated with this, amounting to the trip fare.

  • The Driver can return to a 13cabs offices for you to personally collect at your earliest convenience. This is done at no cost.

  • Suspicious items will be brought to the closest police station for you to personally collect at your earliest convenience.
