Understanding Hire Charge/Flagfall and Other Charges in Your Taxi Fare
Taxi fares are calculated based on regulations set by each state. Your fare may include the following charges:
Hire Charge/Flagfall – The base fare charged at the start of your trip. The hiring charge amount may vary depending on the time of day or day of the week, or the type of service you have requested and will be displayed on the meter before your journey begins. It applies to both hailed and pre-booked trips.
Booking Fee – A surcharge that applies when you book a taxi via the 13cabs app, website, or phone.
Government Levy – Some states apply a mandatory government levy to all taxi trips.
Silver Service (Premium) Fee - $11 – some states charge an additional fee for Silver Service taxis.
Maxi Taxi Fee – extra charge for requesting a taxi that has 5 or more passenger seats available.
Service Fee – A processing fee applies when paying with EFTPOS, credit card, Fastcard, eTicket, or digital voucher.
As fare structures vary by state, please refer to the relevant fare details for your location.
